

Kitesurfing is a great sport. It’s fun, exhilarating, relatively inexpensive and it’s pretty darn easy to learn. That said, there is definitely a right and a wrong way to do it. Kitesurfing kites can be dangerous in the wrong hands if you don’t know what you’re doing. The first stage is to learn about kites; how they work, where they fly, how they go together, launch, land, steer etc.

This is your introduction to the fastest growing sport of the 21st century! Kiteboarding is an awesome sport both to practice and to learn. Your one day course provides all the fundamentals of kiteflying.

At the end of a one day course you will know all about kitesurfing and how to do the basics safely. No doubt you will eagerly be booking up your boardstart day 2 course!
Day 2 - £199 (inc Day 1)| Book Now
The BKSA two day courses builds on the knowledge learnt on day one. Its all about getting on the board and moving. This is where it gets entertaining! By the end of day two you will know all about
- Waterstart theory
- Load and launch
- Coming up and riding
- Rules of the road
- Edging and riding upwind
From here you will be at a stage where you will have learnt all the nuts and bolts of kitesurfing, its just a case of getting out there and practicing more, either on more lessons, hiring kit or getting set up with your own.
Day 3 - £289 (inc Day 1 and 2) | Book Now
This day three course really turns you into a kitesurfer! It fills in all the gaps and builds on your knowledge to hopefully get you out there kitesurfing independently anywhere in the world. By the end of day three you will know all about.
- Have a good solid knowledge of kiteboarding and how to get into it further
- Launch, Land, relaunch and control the board independently
- Advanced site and risk assessment
- Tidal and weather theory and dangers
By the end of day three we are aiming towards you having a comfortable knowledge of how to get out there yourself and practice safely and independently. We advise you at this stage where to go next, It could be a few more hours tuition to polish up the skills, it could be go for it, get some kit and get out there.

If you’re keen on the sport but are not in a position to buy kit yet…or simply want to try some before you buy it. Supervised hire is the way to go. Improver clinics/Down winders
Once you are feeling comfortable with the basics of riding and launch/landing its time to move on and up. Get out of your comfort zones and start learning again (that means you, harbour sailors). Start making real ground up wind in deep water and gouging out some nice carving turns on smaller waves and swell.
So you can ride but can you fly? We think you can!! Get skyward bound in a few hours and open the door to a world of fun. For the more competent amongst you the down winder boat cover and on hand tips and techniques will give you the confidence to try the things, without the hassle of rescuing yourself. These courses are designed to take existing skills and build upon them to turn you into the kiting giants you’re destined to become. You also get to visit places around Poole most other Kiters cant get to.
